Regenerative Medicine
In New York City

Regenerative injection therapy involves injecting growth factors or growth factor stimulants to help the body heal itself, reduce inflammation and scars. Also known as Orthobiologics, regenerative medicine can allow for regrowth of normal cells or tissues, stabilization of joints, in turn, reduction or even elimination of pain. Typical regenerative medicine techniques employed by Dr. Ayoub can involve platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy or amniotic cell injection therapy which allows for growth factors/stem cells to help you recover from injured or degenerated ligaments, tendons, and/or joints.

This treatment is ideal for patients suffering with one of the following:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Soft tissue or intra-articular injuries including cartilage
  • Achilles tendon tears or tendinitis/tendinosis
  • Tendinitis/tendinosis or tears of foot/ankle tendons
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Hallux limitus/hallux rigidus
  • Fractures/broken bones
  • Ligament tears
  • Ankle sprains
  • Foot sprains
  • Joint pain

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP injections involve drawing the patient’s blood, then spinning it down in a machine called a centrifuge. This spinning separates the different layers of blood based on weight, resulting in the top layer to be concentrated with special growth factors. This layer of growth factors, the platelet rich plasma layer, is then injected into the painful area of concern.

Amniotic Stem Cells

Amniotic fluid is very rich in stem cells, proteins, cytokins and other important compounds. Studies have shown that these most essential cells can naturally stimulate healthy tissue growth, stem cell activity, reduce inflammation and even act as a joint lubricant and promote cartilage growth. It is typically injected in the area of underlying damaged tissue.
